Read the flyer. Gates open mid afternoon Friday
Thanks Ted, it's a male trait you know, reading the manual/map is always a last resort, and never in front of the wife !!
Hope it's not too cold and if it is I hope that Dennis Myers has some of that Leeton Ribeena cordial  Roll Eyes

3  Clubroom / General Discussion / Re: New scam on: May 09, 2013, 06:03:36 PM
All of these scams are known in the USA as 419 scams as that is the federal code for mail fraud.
There are several hilarious websites where people string these scumbags along and actually turn the tables by getting them to spend their own money in the hope of getting yours.

Have a read of some of the threads in "the trophy room" at  http://www.419eater.com or the threads at http://www.419baiter.com

Hours of amusing reading.....

When you finish rubbing it back try a product called "PC Plastic Renew" apply it after rubbing back with varying grades of wet & dry. It really brings back the luster. The sell it at MCAS for about $50 that will do about 10 bikes.

7  Clubroom / Tech Talk / Re: Gearbox issues, what could it be? on: March 27, 2013, 06:00:54 PM
For what it's worth I bought an MX250 last year which had 4 good gears and then when you shifted into 5th it was a neutral. It shifted there firmly but no drive.
I pulled the gear clusters/drum/shift forks etc out and could not see anything obviously wrong. After 3 stubbies and a lot of staring I found that one of the little hardened steel cylindrical thingies (item number 8 in Viper666 reply) that locate in the shift drum had a lot of play. The hole that it fits in on the fork was elongated.
Anyhow I bought a new shift fork complete with item #8, put the motor back together and i now have 5th gear restored.

Cheers
Noel
Thanks Noel,
I spoke to Aldo from the club this morning & it looks like they have filled all the training spots.
Looking forward to going around at Nepean again. I haven't ridden it since 1975 so I guess I will have to pay lots of attention during the sighting laps  Embarrassed

Does anyone know what's happening with the proposed CPMCC training day at Nepean on the 23rd March? I have not raced dirt track for quite a few years and would like to get a few laps of practice in before the flag drops on Sunday.

Iainyz,
Unfortunately Remar dont have a brake cable but they do have lots of stuff for my MX and other bikes. Thanks for the tip.

Slakewell,
Is the DT175 cable a 6mm thread or 8mm?
13  Clubroom / Tech Talk / MX 250 Front Brake Cable on: February 20, 2013, 06:30:34 PM
Just been surfing around the net looking for an aftermarket front brake cable for my '74 MX250A. It seems the OEM ones were discontinued many years ago.
Does anyone know of any alternate cables that will fit? The threaded bit that goes into the brake drum is 6 x 1mm and the same cable was fitted to all of the MX & SC series bikes along with the YZ 125's from 74 to 77

15  Marketplace / Wanted / 15mm Axle on: February 18, 2013, 06:40:30 PM
Does anyone have a 15mm diameter axle that measures at least 25cm long from the underside of the head to the end of the threaded bit?
