I've got an IT465 motor laying around, maybe I should put it in one of my DT1 rollers and see how much "fun" a bike like that could produce. Methinks it'd turn into a shitfight with a lot of sorry punters being carted off in ambo's.

What do they say about it all being fun until someone gets hurt .. then it becomes hilarious??

I reckon an IT465 motor in a DT1 frame would only be fun if it were running methanol  Grin

Simmo, I could probably pick it up for you from Shepparton area sometime early next week, easy to drop it off in Wodonga. If that helps?
Cheers Nob

Hi Nobby

Mate that would help greatly.  Do you know Smed at all?  If not I can give you some contact details via PM and we can go from there.

Cheers

The event at Tooleen is round2 of this years VIPER series.

Okay, thanks Rookie.

So if anyone from Albury/Wodonga way is going to Tooleen this weekend and can help bring the bike back to Albury/Wodonga are, I would be greatly appreciative and can offer some fuel money.  I can get it picked up from around the Albury Wodonga region quite easily.

Thanks
Craig

Hi people

I need to move an XL500 from Kyabram to either Wodonga or Yackandandah.  This is a bike I purchased from Smed and I believe he is travelling to Tooleen (spelling) this weekend  (18/19th May) although I'm not sure where that is or what event is on.

If anyone from Albury/Wodonga region is going that way could they please contact me with a view to helping get the bike to Wodonga?

Thanks
Simo

Possibly made at the same factory that makes the genuine Dainese stuff?

In some ways I rip off the SA government as I renew my certification through Country Health SA and therefore the SA goverment pays the fees while I use the same certificate for my MSA and Rotary roles as well.

I've read that before firko, possibly through a link on this site some time ago.

And I tend to agree, this is the time to be enjoying these bikes.  And whilst there are a couple of kids coming up through the scene up Qld way as ElsinoreYZ has pointed out there probably won't be enough and maybe not all of them will stay. Why?  Because apart from those special kids like Lockie Fox (who is currently restoring and race prepping a CZ as well), the bikes won't hold a great deal of relevance to them.  Same with collectable cars.  Even in today's market, the baby boomers are paying lots of money for an XY GT (even replicas can pull $50K or more) but you couldn't get that for a 1926 Dodge.  Again why?

Supply and demand.  Supply is no good without demand and those market forces sets the prices but that's another story although the demand over here is what is pulling the bikes from the US.  And the fact that plenty have now been imported has led to us having a wider choice plus the price being more affordable.  Bit of a win-win for us really.

So get out and ride what you got and, in the words of one Peter Geoffrey Brock, have a red hot go  Grin  As I'm hitting the big 5-0 this year i'll just add in " while you can"   Grin

So lets take it out on the insurance companies that milk our hard earned dollar in every facet of our lives. Public risk liability and OH&S are killing small business, sports associations and just about any organisation that has human interaction involved. The leeches are continually finding new ways to scare government and administration bodies into adopting new legislation (and more expensive insurance coverage) to protect us from ourselves. Look behind everything we do in modern society and you'll find a smiling fat cat insurance company stuffing hundred dollar bills into its pockets by the millions.

I'll be seatbelts on MXers soon enough.. Angry

Lol  Lawsy ... the last thing I want is to be strapped to the damn bike if it's going down .. or up .. or anyway other than around the track  Grin.  But I get your drift ... before you know it we may have to have those little helmet lifting airbag systems .. and who knows what else will come along  Roll Eyes

and the TM and TS frames are very similar except for street brackets and bolt ons.

And the rear brake lever which is also completely different on TM vs TS.

Whew....That's got my two pet hates, insurance companies and MA off my chest in one fell swoop. I feel better now. Grin

Hey Firko as MA self-insure these days I would say that your two pet hates have become one in the same. How's that for progress?  Grin

You might find they have their own policy underwritten and that is what might be causing the rises.

We had the same problem with MA requiring all trees to be removed within 3 meters of the track outline,

Surely that's more to do with the risk that a rider will hit the tree rather than the tree dropping a branch onto the rider

Craig, the odd thing is that it doesn't fit the TM exhaust port......I thought it was a stock TM pipe too but it was given to me by an RH owner whom I'd assume would know such stuff. Huh

Hmm .. maybe 400? or maybe it's been modified to suit something special?

The "RH74" pipe

Looks just like my stock TM pipe Firko.  Comes out the RH side and even has the kick start indent.

Unless I'm mistaken the kit down pipes for the TS all come out the LH side simply because this is the only way they clear the rear brake lever as on the TS it is under the frame rails.
