 Apparently it clashed with some other event so they pulled the pin

That's right Wally, MNSW have a new rule that they won't issue a permit for a Club event if it clashes with an open meeting, an initiative to increase participation at open meetings.
In this case it was the Junior Longtrack Champs at Cowra on the Sat, go figure.
That blanket rule may need some tweaking I think.
They held practice on the Sat at Nepean and from what I've heard the track was excellant, a credit to Tony Garrard and his helpers, the pit & spectator areas were another story, waterlogged.
