What are you taking to CD6
« on: May 13, 2009, 08:49:29 PM »
I don't know about the rest of you but any spare time for me of late is pretty much spent trying to get my shite together for CD6. Found out today the engine in 1 bike I was taking was not as I remembered and quite probably in need of a top end rebuild. Rather than risk disappointment I decided to swap a few engines around settling on a not quite so flogged out unit, and then the wheels, and airboxes and phark!! Finally! I think I'm heading in the right direction ever so slowly but just cusrious (and curious also..dang typo's) as to what others will be taking. For me it'll be the TM125, the RL250, the TS125MX and ye ol' favorite the '78 RM400. Looks like I'll have to empty the trailer this month sometime ::) :)

I'll be bringing the 75 RM125M and maybe an 80 IT175G. The IT is almost ready to go so there's a good chance it'll come along. The RM is all fresh and cleaned - I haven't done much riding this year so plenty of time to give her a decent clean and going over. Really looking forward to finally getting out and having a decent ride on it!

KDX200B1, and either the DT1 or (hopefully) the AT1.

The promise of special tracks for Enduro bikes and pre-70 bikes means that I've gotta take one of each!
The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.

As well as the time problem bought on by some family illness dramas, I've also been set back by the late delivery, piss poor quality and  wrong parts from Simon Cheney in the UK which has forced me to drop my Cheney Yamaha from the CD6 program. Wheras I took four bikes to CD5, I'll limit it to two this year, my Boyd and Stellings Suzuki TM400 and Maico 250 trials bike. I'm also bringing a petrol blender for the Margaritas and a basket case CZ250 for Ji Gantor.

With a bit of luck both blenders will be back (with ice this time!) plus the Klub Kevlar Bling Award will be again be presented. Last years winner, Husky Pete (Husky 67)has laid down the challenge that he's up to win it again with his newly restored Husky 500 Silver Bullet. It's a pity my Cheney won't be finished on time, that superbly crafted and iconic trophy would have looked good in the Casa del Firko pool room!

Vandy I've had all year but it always comes down to the last..why and how I do not know ::)

I must have a good optic at the Hagon framed Jawa, it's a beaut! 8)
Ironically enough I do have a few decent blender motors in excess to my needs, maybe a plan in the making :P

Burnt the midnight oil last night (didn't like the cd anyway!) but hopefully near completed the TS. I've always said the converted trailies can cut it :P this is about the best offering I can build with what I have :) I know pics of the bike have been splashed around but this is the final deal ;) Need to fit the new front tyre and give it a test run Saturday 'hopefully', settled for the 'big' wheel setup since it's worked well previously and small wheels have always hurt me in the past ::)

Hey Guys,
On a slightly different tack. I.e. What am I bringing home from CD6?

I was going to be driving to CD6, but a late minute change of plan has the VMX crew travelling together [sounds like team bonding to me] so I won't be able to pickup a bike that Brad van Barello has sitting in the back of his shed for me.

Will anybody have room for another bike on the return trip from CD6 to Sydney? Happy to assist with petrol money.

Thanks in advance for your help.
You can contact me on 02 9875 1033 or email: jeff@vmxmag.com.au
Thanks in advance

I will be taking a hoard as i did last year. Between my own and the Kiwi contingent there will be plenty to ride.

Speaking of Kiwis....Is anyone taking a TV set so our Kiwi friends TM Bill, DJ and Komrade Jolley can watch their precious All Blacks cop a flogging from our beloved Wallabies in the first Bledisloe Cup test on Saturday evening?
