I've increased the space for images, but might have to do some pruning in there cos it's all getting a bit full...

I think I remember Pokey saying we can save space on your site by putting the photos in photobucket or something and then using the HRL (terminology ??).  Is that right.

Yep, that's right. There are two options for photos - one is to upload as an attachment, which uses space on my server, and the other is to upload to an image hosting website like photobucket or village photos.

To do that second one, you just need to copy the URL for the image after you have uploaded it and use the 'Insert Image' button in the Post Message screen, then you paste the URL into the tags on the screen. When you click the Insert Image button, it puts special 'tags' into the text of your message which sort of look like this:

Code:
[img][/img]

Then you just paste the URL for the image in between those tags like this:

Code:
[img]http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2007-6/1264741/YZ360B1.jpg[/img]

and that comes out as an image in the finished post, like this:

Thanks for the link; I think I'm also up shit creek with the 'upload folder full' thing.
I'll give it a burl.

Although it says your folder is full, there is only one upload folder. I have reset it to 100 Mb but I think after it's full I'll have to stop allowing attachments, or clean out what's there.

I think it's a better thing if everyone uses something like Photobucket and just link the images in...
